We believe that every cat who wants a home deserves a home…
The Cat Collaborative serves to create best-practice initiatives, support and amplify the work of partner rescues and shelters, coordinate and enhance neighborhood relationships and build an effective volunteer network to strategically serve cats and those who love them.

Recognizing Philadelphia’s unique landscape, our multifaceted approach considers the role that feral, friendly strays, and unsterilized pets contribute to cat overpopulation.
Our initiative will facilitate increased TNR, provide sterilization surgery for pets and provide friendly strays with
behavioral assessments and rescue placement.
Get involved…you will literally be saving lives! There are numerous opportunities to volunteer with The Cat Collaborative and we realize that an effective volunteer network is essential to the success of our organization! Some of the opportunities available include trapping cats, transporting cats, fostering cats, assisting at the spay/neuter clinic, and various administrative tasks. With your help, we can positively impact more and more cats. We need you…and so do the cats!

Trap-Neuter-Return or TNR Saves Lives
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the humane approach to addressing community cat populations, works! It saves cats’ lives and is effective. TNR improves the lives of cats, addresses community concerns, reduces complaints about cats, and stops the breeding cycle. TNR improves the co-existence between outdoor cats and humans in our shared environment.
Rescue Partners
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
We are so appreciative to the rescue partners who have joined us in our quest to make the Philadelphia area a better place for cats. Because of their support in accepting friendly, adoptable cats into their rescue groups, there are fewer instances that we are forced to release a cat back to a life on the street simply because we don’t have foster space. Our partnership allows us to effectively and efficiently move forward with TNR efforts, but not lose sight of the importance of determining the appropriate outcome for each individual cat. Please visit our partners page to view all of our rescue partners. You can click into each one to learn more and find adoptable cats!

WINDSOR’S LEGACY
Our Stories: Happy and SadHe Stole Our Hearts…
Windsor. Just the mention of his name can still bring tears to our eyes. Windsor epitomized what we love about cats; their strength, their fortitude, and their ability to remain sweet, despite terrible hardships. Windsor will continue to live in our memory for years to come and will fuel our passion to help the cats of Philadelphia. We first met Windsor when we were doing a trapping project on Windsor Street in Southwest Philadelphia in an area overrun with cats. Ultimately, we trapped close to 100 cats in this neighborhood, many of them sick or injured. Two of our volunteers even had the terrible experience of seeing a cat hit by a car while they were onsite. Overall, an all-around sad place for cats to live. |
