All are welcome, and anyone who comes out and helps build shelters gets to take one home for their outdoor feline friends!

We'll have snacks, refreshments, and our staff and volunteers on hand to guide you through the shelter building process!

Why we build cat shelters in the winter: Community and feral cats grow thicker coats for the cold, but that's often not enough to keep them safe once temperatures drop toward freezing — they're still at real risk of hypothermia and frostbite. A simple, well-insulated shelter lets a cat's own body heat warm the small enclosed space, which can make the difference between a rough night and a dangerous one. It's a small build that goes a long way.
